Ghost nets are fishing nets that have been left or lost in the ocean by fishermen. These nets can be left tangled on a rocky reef or drifting in the open sea. In stormy weather these are often coughed up onto our beaches were great people involved in voluntary efforts proceed to recover these by any means necessary. this was one of the largest I've seen washed up onto the shore and must have weighed about 1000kgs at least!
The material of these nets is PE (polyethylene) meaning it is 100% recyclable!
